Eleanor and Henry enjoyed a trip to the zoo this week! It was a bit chilly that morning, so they donned their matching long sleeve letter shirts, and had a blast exploring the “farm” part of the zoo. Eleanor and I got in line to feed the cows, but she decided that she just wanted to watch me do it. Henry wasn’t allowed to get close enough to feed them, but he enjoyed from a distance. They both enjoyed a ride on the train, and Eleanor loved getting into the farm tractor and pretending to drive. We stopped by the monkeys and gorillas on our way out, which Eleanor really enjoyed, but Henry slept through. There is one picture from the trip with no kids in it – bonus points to whoever can post a comment identifying why Momma took it.
Henry’s big development this week is the advent of three new teeth poking through on top, to compliment the one that made its break through last week. I tried to get some pictures, but you can really only see the one. He also took a bath in the big tub in his bathroom for the first time – although the impetus for the bath was unfortunate. He was eating a puff after lunch and it caused him to gag a bit, which is does sometimes, but this time instead of just a little gag it was followed by the entire contents of lunch in projectile format :( poor guy. (not pictured…you’re welcome) On a positive note, Henry got an addition to his room this week, Momma moved the rocking chair into his room, so now he doesn’t have to read bedtime stories in Eleanor’s room.
Eleanor had her doctor checkup this week, and everything went well, although she didn’t appreciate the flu shot. We had heard rumors that they would ask us if Eleanor can jump yet (which she can’t) but it didn’t come up. Eleanor had lots of fun this week outside, she rode on her new tricycle for the first time, although because she has to wear her bike helmet while on it, she currently prefers to push it rather than ride on it. Hopefully that will change soon. She also discovered a new game where Dad throws the ball high in the air, and Eleanor giggles while it bounces and then chases it down for a repeat. On a funny side note, Mom found Eleanor in her crib one afternoon after her nap completely naked from the waist down – she had for some reason taken off her pants and diaper (also not pictured :) ).
