Wow – what a week! It started out as a normal week but finished with a flurry of activity. Henry has been working on his clapping for a little while, but on Saturday he thrilled himself and Mom and Dad with a clapping session at dinner, and he could even hear himself making noise as he clapped. This really had him giggling, but then he picked up a towel and started playing “Where’s Henry”, lifting the towel over his head and then dropping it all by himself. Mom and Dad were just about rolling on the ground laughing at this point. Henry loved his new role as active entertainer. On Sunday, Henry took his first trip to a pumpkin patch, and found a few pumpkins that were about his size.
Eleanor started full on potty training on Thursday, and had some early success going twice with Lala that evening. Friday wasn’t as successful, with a number of accidents and no successes. Saturday started with more of the same, with Dad carrying Eleanor to the potty mid-accident. However, after that she turned the corner and successfully went in the potty four times, plus a successful #2. On Sunday, we attempted the trip to the pumpkin patch without diapers, but I think that was a bit too much for her even with the Saturday success. We had an accident in the car on the way there, and then two at the pumpkin patch – amazingly both in the same little play house. Potty problems aside, Eleanor had a blast at the pumpkin patch. The whole family went down the super slide, and Eleanor started saying “again” before we even stopped at the bottom. We ended up doing the slide three times, she also rode a truck ride twice, and did the pony ride twice. The second pony ride was on a 17 year old pony named “Bones”. She got back on potty track when we got home, and hopefully she will have it mastered soon!
