Eleanor and Henry had a fun week relaxing at home, and enjoying some unseasonable warm days at the park. Henry got his first pair of real shoes, and was practicing using them on the slide at the park. I think he is just about ready to do the slide all by himself – if we set him at the top he will wiggle his way off the edge and start heading down. We also pulled out Eleanor’s old high chair and set it up for Henry. We were worried about Eleanor wanting to get back in it – but now that she is at her own table she was willing to let Henry take it over. I think he likes it more than the booster seat – and it definitely helps contain the mess a bit better. Henry and Eleanor went with Mom to vote on Tuesday – another first for Henry! As Henry gets more used to table food, he has been more interested in Eleanor’s snacks. So far, she has been very good about sharing her puffs and popcorn.
Eleanor had fun this week with all the changing weather – several days she got to put on her rain boots and stomp in some puddles, and other days we had beautiful weather for fun park time and playtime in the front driveway. On Sunday, while I was putting Henry down for his morning nap, Eleanor set up a “Farmer in the dell” chorus line with her farm puzzle pieces all by herself. I came back downstairs and found her singing along with them all lined up. We also went to visit a number of preschools this week – it won’t be long and she’ll be starting a few days a week.
