Eleanor and Henry had a fun week including a trip downtown to see the “Cat in the Hat” play. They were both a little restless while we were waiting in our seats for the play to start, but both were engrossed once it started. Eleanor gave the biggest grin during the “Would you like to shake hands with Thing 1 and Thing 2” part :) Other fun activities this week included making corn on the cob and visiting the nature museum. We also did a photo shoot for Eleanor’s third birthday – I’ll post those as soon as I have them. On the way home from that photo shoot, Eleanor and Henry took turns running ahead and sitting in doorway until Mom caught up. Once Eleanor did it the first time, Henry was hooked and he continued the “sit down in a doorway while we are walking on the sidewalk” all week. Henry has added a few words – “pool” and “excuse me” come to mind. We also started a new swimming class this week – so far the jury is still out. Henry’s class was pretty similar to the old one, but Eleanor’s was without Mom or Dad in the water. The good side is that they are working on more advanced lessons, the bad side is that she was a bit scared being alone and didn’t want to participate. Hopefully she is more comfortable next week. Henry is getting very daring with stairs and steps – he is determined to figure them out and will just step right off a regular sized stair with a look of great confidence – but if Mom or Dad weren’t right there to catch him, it wouldn’t end well. He is getting better – and I bet soon he will have it figured out.
