Happy Thanksgiving!

Henry and Eleanor had a wonderful Thanksgiving visiting Mimi, Papa, Great Grandma Geneva, Great Grandma Adams and lots of Aunts and Uncles, Great Aunts and Uncles and cousins. We stayed with cousins Caleb, Tara and Leah, who were so much fun to play with. Henry was particularly excited about all of the pets that we visited, he loved to pet and chase Carter, Poppers, Lady and Sugar. We also managed to find time to visit a local science museum and the local Zoo. Henry’s favorite at the zoo was the giraffes, who we got to see fed close up. Eleanor’s favorite were the “regular brown monkeys”, she was particularly unimpressed with the small black and white monkeys with long puffy tails. At Thanksgiving dinner, Eleanor really enjoyed the ham and turkey which surprised both Mom and Dad, and the desert cupcake which surprised no one. Henry was more excited about the mac and cheese.

When we got home we went to pick out a Christmas tree at the local lot. Eleanor helped me by unwinding the lights as I put them on the tree, and then both Eleanor and Henry helped to put the decorations on. Herny was asleep when we put the lights on, and when he came down after nap he ran over to the tree shouting “light” :) While decorating he was able to actually hang a few ornaments on the tree, but he then took them back off to play with. While Henry quickly lost interest, Eleanor kept coming back for more ornaments to hang until we were done – although all of hers ended up in a small cluster on the same two or three branches. A visit from Uncle B rounded out the week, and he brought “25 books of advent” for the kids to open all December.
