Eleanor took a trip to D.C. this weekend to visit some old friends (well, Amy’s old friends, anyway. Ellie isn’t really old enough to have old friends yet). She did great on the airplane both ways – and it was her first time travelling with her new (larger) car seat. It leaves less room for Dad in the seat next to her, but it keeps her snug and comfy. She even zoomed through the airport with the attachable wheels (unfortunately not pictured). Along with meeting her D.C. “cousins”, Eleanor had a number of firsts this week:
- First trip to D.C.
- First time watching kites fly (only mildly successfully – the kite flying that is, the watching was superb.)
- First time playing with a Jack-in-The-Box
Eleanor’s crawling and standing continues to improve – so much so that we had to set up some gates in the front window to keep her contained. While it may look like a mini jail, she is perfectly happy inside, and in fact really appreciates the additional hand holds for standing. Strangely enough, the cat also enjoys being inside the gates….
