Eleanor and Henry had a great last week of 2011 – and Henry was up at midnight to mark the start of 2012 (Eleanor, thankfully, was fast asleep). Henry was introduced to d-vi-sol and tummy time this week – neither of which were his favorite. He is quite strong with his neck and back muscles, and can lift both legs off the ground and switch his head from side to side while doing tummy time. Beyond that, he is mostly concentrating on eating, sleeping, and training Mom and Dad as to which needs to be done when. Eleanor is adjusting to life with a brother – mostly quite well. She has been enjoying the extra time with Dad, Mimi and Aunt Lary over the last few weeks, but she still misses all the one on one time she used to have with Mom. She got a suprise late in the week when Mom came home from the store with a potty for her! So far, it is just a chair with a fun compartment for her toys – but hopefully over the next few months, she will learn to utilize it. The whole family broke out the double stroller for its maiden voyage this week – marking Henry’s first stroll and first trip to the grocery store, and Eleanor’s first stroll with a co-pilot. Eleanor also had a food first – sneaking some popcorn out of Mom’s bag. After taking her first one, she headed off to the slide for more playtime – but before she made it (it was only a few steps away) she decided she needed another kernel. She repeated that process a few times – I think she will be a popcorn fan!
