Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

It was a fun packed week with St. Patrick’s day, Henry’s three month old birthday and a sudden influx of summer weather.   Attire at the park went from hat and vest to t-shirts – and we broke out the water table and played in the sandbox in the back yard.   On Saturday we went out for breakfast, and then saw the Chicago River dyed green.  Eleanor mostly enjoyed running around the riverwalk, while Henry enjoyed a nice nap in the 75 degree weather.  We took lots of pictures in their matching green outfits, which gave Eleanor and Henry lots of quality time sitting next to each other.  Eleanor loves to give and get kisses from Henry – and she likes hugging him so much that we have to make sure she doesn’t smother him!  She got a bit over excited attempting one hug during Henry’s play time on the mat, and tripped and fell right on his head.

Eleanor is becoming more and more independent at the park, especially when it is just Mom and Henry with her – this week she completed a full circuit including ramp, steps and slide all by herself!  She can also now go down the stairs at home all by herself too.  Verbally, she perfected the name of the little boy who lives next door, and finalized on “Ga” and “Pa” for Grandma and Grandpa.  She also put two words together to form new meaning – saying “Mama egg” when she wanted a piece of Mama’s egg instead of her own.

Henry has been napping much better – which is mostly nice for Mom and Dad – but has definitely reduced the amount of crying as well.  He noticed the mirror while he was getting a bath for this first time this week, surprised to find another baby also getting a bath :)  His head tracking is also getting much better – he will follow you with his eyes if you get up and walk away.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
