A Tooth?

This week Henry gained his first tooth! It is just barely popping through on the backside of his gums, so we don’t have a photo yet, but hopefully next week! Unfortunately, I think the tooth has put him in a bad mood – he was a bit fussy all week. He has also been working on his rolling over – he still can’t quite do it without being propped up, but he is getting closer.

Eleanor has been very excited about wearing barrettes in her hair this week – she usually request a two, one blue and one orange. We actually don’t have an orange one, so we use a gold one and she doesn’t seem to mind. I think colors have a bit of a floating definition for her still. She also had her first pony tail this week! It’s been a long time coming, but her hair is finally long enough for a little tail. On Saturday, both of the kids and Mom happened to be wearing shirts with hoodies on them – so I donned a hoodie of my own and we took a silly little family hoodie picture. Later that day, I caught Eleanor carrying the tripod over to the play rug. She had set Monkey up in the Eleanor chair and was getting ready to take his picture :) She is quite the observer – anything that Mom or Dad do with either her or Henry she ends up recreating with Monkey. She is also a riot to listen to babble – at first it sounds like gibberish, but if you really focus, you realize that she is actually using real words. I’ve caught her singing songs as well as narrating the current situation. She also knows a number of her books – I test her by stopping mid page and more often than not (especially with Cat in the Hat) she fills in the correct word.
