The Great Outdoors

Eleanor and Henry enjoyed a week with lots of outdoor time.  It started with a birthday party for Eleanos and one of Eleanor’s friends at the park, and continued right through Sunday afternoon when we donned Eleanor’s new rain boots and braved some rain to stomp in a few puddles.   Both Henry and Eleanor enjoyed a visit from Uncle B and Breanne on Saturday – it took a little while but Eleanor warmed up and was very impressed with Uncle B’s bubble blowing abilities.   Eleanor has really been enjoying a few new books that she picked out on a trip to Barnes and Nobel with Mom and Henry, especially “Wacky Wednesday”, “Put me in the Zoo” and “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”.  One afternoon after nap, she even asked to read a story to Henry.

Henry’s top teeth are really filling in, there are now four that you can see clearly, and maybe one more starting to pop.  He is really getting a hang of rolling and scooting on the ground, although he prefers to do it when no one is watching.  Both Mom and Dad have been surprised to find him in a different place and position than we left him.  We’ve been slowly adding some more solid foods to his diet, but so far he hasn’t loved any of them.  This week he tried some chopped up mac and cheese and some apple, as well as eating some of Eleanor’s yogurt for the first time (sneaky guy).  His favorite thing to do is stand while hanging on to either Eleanor’s crib or the walls of the playpen in the front room.  He has also really taken to Eleanor’s racecars, and loves to sit and watch them spin around.
