Eleanor and Henry had a fun week ending with a weekend with Papa and Mimi and Lala in charge. Henry is making some progress towards crawling – but hasn’t yet figured it out. He can make a bit of progress scooting and rolling, but down’t like to get up on his knees. His top four teeth are realling coming in quickly now, and are readily visible. While sitting on the floor, he is starting to try to pull himself up to a standing position. He can get his bottom off the ground, but hasn’t figured out how to get his feet under him yet. Our next big projects are working on “m” and “d” sounds, and clapping. Henry had his first “underdog” push in a swing this week (pictured).
I think Eleanor has decided that it is time for her to be in charge. On Sunday I asked her who should hold Henry while I fetched the train from under the couch and she decided that she should. She held him in her lap on the floor the whole time I was gone. And then for bed that night, she conducted her entire bedtime routine by herself, including singing the bedtime song, and then tried to climb in her crib by herself. She got Papa, Mimi and Lala laughing while playing with her punching penguin – who seemed to be running low on batteries. She proclaimed that we should hold the batteries higher :) Eleanor helped Papa cook pancakes for the first time this weekend, turns out she is an excellent stirrer.
