Eleanor and Henry had one more fun day with Mimi and Papa on Monday before they headed home, and everyone had a blast at the park on Monday. Then at the end of the week, Dad took charge all by himself for a full 24 hours! One missed bedtime and one giant meltdown later, Mom came home to the rescue. Packed into the middle of the week were a whole bunch of firsts:
Henry:
- Rode a teeter totter
- Ate solid sweet potato
- Stayed home with just Eleanor and Dada for a whole day
- Mastered feeding himself a puff
- Drank water out of a sippy cup all by himself
- Played with the water table
- Wore shoes
Eleanor:
- Pushed Henry in the stroller all by herself
- Swung on the rings at the park
Eleanor has also been working on her sense of humor – specifically in making jokes herself. She will now randomly insert the word “soap” into the ABC song just to see if you notice, and then start laughing when you do. She will also hide toys behind her back or under her shirt, and say “Ut oh”, to which you say “Where did [toy] go?” and then she says “I don’t see it” and then laugh when she reveals them. Speaking of which, it might be her first proper use of the word “I”.
