Henry celebrated his 9 month birthday this week, and we took our customary family portraits. The portraits rounded out an activity packed weekend with a breakfast out, a trip to the zoo, and a “Tribute to the Muppets” concert. Eleanor rode the train at the zoo all by herself – she was very brave! She also loved seeing the monkeys, and said “ooh ooh ahh ahh” each time she saw one. Both Henry and Eleanor really enjoyed the music during the Muppets show – Henry immediately got still and watched the singers on the stage, and Eleanor got off Dad’s lap and started dancing.
Eleanor has a new strap system that lets her sit securely in the bar stool instead of her high chair, although she isn’t convinced. So far for each meal she has asked to go back into her high chair. She had lots of fun riding the tricycle, and is starting to get the idea of how to peddle. Eleanor had fun Skyping with Papa – she even wanted him to play the “beads in the trashcan” game with her. When Mom explained that Papa couldn’t play through the computer, Eleanor continued by playing both roles herself.
Henry ate lasagna for the first time this week, as he gets a little more comfortable with solid food – although he still gives us a choking scare every now and again. He is really getting a hang of eating puffs by himself, and once even got the lid off the puff container and managed to empty the entire bottle on the floor next to him and start chowing. Oh yeah, and Henry clapped for the first time this week!
