This week, Henry decided it was time to get up and go. On Monday he was scooting just a little bit, and experimenting with the idea, and by Tuesday he was up to full speed. Mom and Dad were thrilled with his new trick – although we did find it a bit ironic that he started moving along just days before we head out for a vacation in a non baby-proofed house. It also perfectly coincided with his 10 month birthday. He has also been working on eating table foods, and is making lots of progress. He now eats waffles, strawberries and oatmeal with Eleanor at breakfast, and mac and cheese with her at lunch.
Eleanor had fun this week watching them demolish a house across the alley. They took down the carriage house using a front loader and dump truck which she could see from our front window, and inspired her to get out her front loader and dump truck and do some coordinated play. Mom snapped some great photos that are just screaming for the Eleanor inspired caption “Match”.
On Friday, Eleanor and Henry left with Mom and Lala on a vacation to the beach – with Dad a day behind. Mimi, Papa, Uncle J, Aunt Shawnee and Cousin Saul met them there for a fun family get together. Henry loved the walk on the boardwalk and sitting on the grass in the beautiful back yard, and Eleanor got a kick out of eating spaghetti with a fork and running free in the grass. They both loved hanging out with Saul – and can’t wait to hit the beach next week when it is supposed to get warmer!
