Merry Christmas

Henry and Eleanor had a blast celebrating Christmas with Mimi, Papa, Lala, Uncle B and Breanne.  We started off the week with a trip to the train exhibit at the botanical gardens, and a trip to the doctor for Henry’s one year checkup (all is well :) ).  Then Mimi and Papa arrived for lots of days of play.  We also had a fun visit from our friends Anna and Jackie – who both really liked the caterpillar tunnel.

Henry continues to work on his walking, although I don’t think that he is convinced yet that it should become his main mode of transportation.  He is also becoming more expressive, both with sounds and gestures.  He has a distinctive noise that he makes for Zapa, and also one that seems to mean either “I’m Hungry” or “I’m Thirsty”.

Eleanor did a lot of cooking this week, helping Mom to make a crockpot lasagna and Mimi and Papa to make pancakes for Christmas breakfast.  We also got a bit of snow on Christmas morning, and Eleanor loved going outside and playing in it.  She loved watching snowballs hit the ground, and also shoveling snow into the storm drains.  We got her set up with a hockey stick and she was off doing her own shoveling.  Poor Henry was napping at the time so he missed the snow fun.
