Both Henry and Eleanor were glad to be home after their long travel day – and both gave Zapa very excited greetings. Henry has been working on some new tricks this week – making the appropriate “pfffft” noise for elephants, and an “m” noise for melts. He has been working on his walking, and can also now climb the slide all by himself (although Mom or Dad are always nearby because sometimes the dismount isn’t as graceful :) ). He also successfully put all of the shapes into the shape sorter – although Dad had to show him each time which hole to try. He is quite proud of himself with the shape sorter, and loves to clap after each piece goes in – and also when they don’t go all the way in.
Eleanor picked out both her outfit and Henry’s outfit on Friday, bright orange pants and blue and white striped shirts. They looked like a pair of jailbirds, especially when they were riding the rocking horse. On Thursday, Eleanor went for a trial run at preschool. She only stayed for an hour or so, and Mom was there the whole time. Next week she will go for a half day all by herself! Oh yeah – Monkey got a “bath” this week two, all new and fluffy. For those of you counting at home, this marks the third incarnation of Monkey.
