Time for School

Eleanor went to preschool this week for the first time all by herself. She got a brand new blue monkey to help her make the trip, and then packed up her bee backpack and headed off with Mom. She did great the first day, no tears at drop off, and she joined in with the classroom activities. Unfortunately, day two had some tears when Mom dropped her off, but hopefully things will get better next week. Eleanor has been really into puzzles this week, she got a new one from Mimi for Christmas, and she and Monkey have probably done it 50 times this week. She occasionally needs a tip, but for the most part she does it all by herself.

Henry continues to work on his walking and his talking. He is still a point to point walker, but he is getting braver about how far away his target is. His sounds continue to be more expressive and more diverse. He can (occasionally) get correct the “What does an elephant say?” and “What does a lion say?”, and he loves to shake his head right back at Mom or Dad when we tell him “no” to something he is doing. He is also starting to show more interest in books – even if they don’t have flaps or fun textures.
