Henry and Eleanor hosted Grandpa and Grandma this weekend for a quick visit. You can definitely see the changes in Eleanor especially, she needs less and less “adjustment” time before she is comfortable running and playing. Henry’s favorite game was knocking over stacks of blocks, Eleanor’s favorite was snack time with Grandma. It didn’t take her long to discover that Grandma was always up for a snack.
Henry’s vocabulary is coming along – he added “ut-oh” to his word list – hot on the heels of “apple” last week. His biggest thrill this week, however, was when he was able to reach the water in the bathroom sink while standing on the stool. He has been working on getting up on the stool for a little while, but boy did his face light up when he was able to stretch his arm out and catch the running water with his fingertips. Now it is a constant challenge to keep him out of the bathroom, all he wants to do is put his hand through the water. He has also been working on his jumping, he is frankly getting closer to getting off the ground that Eleanor is.
Eleanor has developed a new game for nap time, called “preschool”. Instead of sleeping, for the past week she has been hosting school for Monkey, Piggy and select other friends in her bed at naptime. It is quite a riot to listen to her on the monitor instructing her friends on the next activity. We finished off the week with a trip to the bookstore, where Eleanor picked out a new book in the “Biscuit” series, “Biscuit gets some snow”, which she wanted to read three times in a row that night. Oh yeah – I should mention the Monkey disaster on Saturday night – he fell into the potty. Good thing we have backups…

One response to “Grandpa and Grandma!”
There are a lot of snacking pictures with Grandma, although at least some are pretend food. (o:
