Eleanor and Henry wished Mamma a Happy Mother’s Day this week with some special drawings. Henry’s was a masterpiece via the one hand multiple crayon technique. Eleanor made “A Zoo and an Aquarium”. They were each very proud to carry them over and give them to Mom this morning.
The first series of photos this week requires a bit of an explanation. Eleanor is fascinated by burned out light bulbs, and loves to point them out and ask for Dada to fix them. Well, this turned into a bit of a game where I put her or one of her dolls on my shoulders and ask if they are now tall enough to change the light. So, while I was getting new bulb for the closet, Eleanor climbed the stool with Monkey on her shoulders – and then of course Henry wanted to get in on the fun.
Henry has really enjoyed the trains this week – he picked out a new one at the toy store and will sit and watch them roll around the track for extended periods of time. Eleanor fell asleep in the stroller before getting to the toy store, so she didn’t get to pick. Mom picked out some puzzles for her, and it was a great selection. I showed Eleanor how the box recommended “Ages 4+”, but with a little help here and there she was able to put it together. She even made up a birthday for Elmo so that “She is four now and can help us with the puzzle”. Ha! We finished the week with a birthday party for some friends, where both kids loved the balloon animal maker (Eleanor got a duck) and then a little concert. Poor Henry was very tired by the time the music started, but he didn’t want to leave and just stared at the stage.
