Eleanor and Henry had a visit from their cousins this week – unfortunately the weather here didn’t co-operate. We still had a great time hanging out with Camille and Austin and their Mom and Grandparents. We actually had a lot of rain this week, and as a result had a number of indoor activities including a trip to the pet store. I think both Eleanor and Henry’s favorite part was picking out a toy for Zapatita.
Henry had a fun trip to the Nature Museum one day while Eleanor was at preschool. He is working on adding more words, this week adding a definite sound for pancake (although it doesn’t sound much like pancake) and “Poo-Poo”, which comes up a lot at diaper changings.
Eleanor had her first proper deli sandwich this week, and followed it up immediately the next day with one of Mom’s egg muffin sandwiches. She has eaten all the ingredients of these for a long time, but only this week was she interested in eathing them while “assembled”. On a sad note, she took a bit of a spill off her tricycle while going down the little hill in our driveway. She was looking over her shoulder telling Dad not to let go (of course I already had) and then the whole thing just tipped over :( I am reminded of a story that my Dad tells about teaching my sister to ride a bike – promising not to let go and then letting go and then a big crash…hopefully this is not an omen for future bike lessons.
