Eleanor and Henry celebrated the Fourth of July with Grandma and Grandpa and cousins Mackenzie, Jack and Ben, and Auntie Susan. Both Henry and Eleanor enjoyed packing for the trip – Henry tried on Mama’s high heel shoes and Eleanor picked out her own clothes and packed Monkey. Both kids loved the water toys at Grandma and Grandpa’s, and also enjoyed the special treats – oatmeal scotchies and jello cake (Henry’s first!). They were both a bit uneasy about walking in the grass, perhaps a sign that we need to get them out into grass more often. Eleanor clearly inherited Mom’s boating gene, she fell asleep just a few minutes into the boat ride – Henry really enjoyed it, especially his chance to drive! He got a good reaction from the crowd when he got his hand on the throttle and gave it a good rev. Grandma and Grandpa even got to put the kiddos down for bed one night when Mom and Dad headed out for a friend’s wedding. Henry gave Grandpa quite the stare as he was placed in his crib – and Eleanor convinced Grandma to let her sleep on the couch :)
Great Grandma and Great Aunt Ann came over for dinner and Eleanor was very excited to show Aunt Ann the “light switch that doesn’t do anything” and sang some songs for Great Grandma.
