Eleanor and Henry celebrated the first day of fall this week enjoying the cooler weather. Eleanor is getting more and more comfortable with preschool, she now takes the “chair” during show and tell and talks about here chosen item, and brings home more tales to tell Mom and Dad then she used to.
Henry had a big first this week when he used the potty for the first time. He has been interested in sitting on it for a while now, but this Tuesday he actually used it successfully. He has repeated the feat once or twice since then, but only on Mom and Dad’s potty (he won’t sit on any of the others). He had a rough night Wednesday when we had a big thunderstorm roll through just after bedtime. Mom had to go in and stay with him for a while – and it has taken him a few days to get back into the sleeping habit. We have started leaving his door open at night, which he seems to like. Henry continues to build on his vocabulary, and has some new two syllable words for helicopter and orange. I’m pretty sure he made a “Hen” for himself instead of his usual “ehhhhh” sound, but I couldn’t get him to repeat it. He is working on a sound for Eleanor – and loves to shout out “B!” when he sees Uncle B.
