Hello October

Henry and Eleanor had a fun week welcoming October. They took a trip over to Lala’s to pick up the mail while she was out of town, and loved visiting her house. They make a quick walk over to Uncle B’s house from there, but he wasn’t home either. Henry has had a few more successes on the potty – and after one such moment Mom was explaining that when he had it mastered he could switch from diapers to underwear. Having heard that, Eleanor proceeded to take several pairs of her underwear into Henry’s room, put them in one of his drawers, and explain to him that he could use them after he learned to use the potty. She then grabbed a pair of shorts and a shirt and gave them to Henry as well, explaining that she “didn’t wear them much anymore”. Ha! Anywho, Henry proceeded to put on one of the pairs of underwear for a photo that I’m sure will be used against him 20 years down the road :) Eleanor has been very into helping Henry this week – one afternoon when he wasn’t napping she went into his room and tried to calm him down. Mom got a great video of the monitor capturing Eleanor trying to bribe Henry to lie down with a book, and then counting “Henry 1…Henry 2…Henry 3…” with a final “Henry, if you don’t lie down I’m going to leave”.

Both kids got a kick out of watching me replace the fan in Henry’s room, and loved climbing up the ladder. Eleanor has mastered the tricycle, and no longer wants any help while she is riding it (except for a push when going up the hill at the end). She loves to race down the hill all by herself.
