Super Bowl!

This week Eleanor and Henry hosted a Super Bowl party complete with three different kinds of chili. They were both very confused when we turned on the TVs and everyone started watching. Eleanor liked the fireworks during the team introductions but was confused as to why everyone was running. While watching the opening kickoff she shouted “Pushing…they are all pushing! We don’t do that.” Ha! I tried to explain that football was one exception to the pushing rule. During the first quarter she pronounced that she was “All done with football” and didn’t watch any more. While I was putting her to bed I told her that it was a once a year event, and she explained that she didn’t want to watch any more football ever. She did admit that she enjoyed all the fun food that went along with it. Henry was less interested in the game, and he mostly played with toys while stealing a quick glace at the game every now and again.

Other fun activities this week included a trip to the Nature Museum for Henry, and several trips to Whole Foods. Henry is starting to get interested in puzzles, which is very fun. He can’t quite get the pieces to fit together by himself, but he is starting to really work at it. Eleanor had a “no drama” drop off at preschool this week – the secret was that her friends were playing with Tinker Toys when she arrived, and she barely had a second glance to Mom before she joined in. She told us later that those are some of her favorite toys, so we will have to pick some up for home!
