Eleanor and Henry had a fun week filled with Valentine’s Day fun. Grandma and Grandpa sent fun packages to open, and we had lots of fun cards from friends and family to open. We were supposed to go to a class party at Eleanor’s school on Friday, but Eleanor and Henry slept right through it. The upside is that we now have lots of extra fruit from the snacks we were going to take to the party, so there have been lots of fruit smoothies this weekend.
We took down the gate this week to the stairs going up to the top floor – and Henry and Eleanor have really been enjoying jumping off the bottom step. Ever since the trampoline arrived, both Eleanor and Henry have been very into jumping, and in addition to the bottom step they also jump off both sides of the slide. Eleanor was trying to work up the courage to jump off the top of the slide, and finally decided to pull the beanbag over and jump into that – Great Fun! Henry tried the big plunge off the top of the slide, but forgot to jump and had a bit of a face plant – poor guy. He was undeterred though, and continues to push the limits of his jumping abilities.
We were very excited to give Eleanor and Henry some Tinker Toys for Valentine’s Day, because Eleanor likes them so much at school. Not surprisingly, about 10 minutes after giving them the toys, Mom Dad and Lala were all playing with them, and Henry and Eleanor had moved on to other things :) I think we will eventually get lots of fun out of them though.
We ate lunch this weekend at the new Spicy Monkey that has been under construction for what seems like a year – and finally opened. We all enjoyed it, but you have to be in the mood for soup and grilled cheese, as that is all that is on the menu!
