The whole family continued our Chicago tradition of visiting the dyeing of the river green this year. Henry and Eleanor were moderately impressed by the river, and more impressed by the police boat that drove by with its lights flashing. We had our traditional brunch out before hand, and then were stroller free for the walk to the river for the first time! It was a bit cold, but we had a fun time, and both kids loved to run around in the plaza a bit before heading home.
Another fun activity this week was a cake decorating class on Monday. Both Eleanor and Henry got to go and decorate a cake like space! They mixed some dark icing, and added stars and a sun. Mom had to help a few places, but they both had a good time and really enjoyed testing the ingredients along the way :) Eleanor had some awesome days at school this week, and her teacher declared Friday her “best day ever” in terms of engagement, participation and interaction with her peers. Eleanor of course offered no insight as to what she enjoyed most this week, but hopefully we will see more video snapshots from school with Eleanor participating and less with her giving her trademark “blank stare”.
Henry figured out how to take his diaper off during nap this week (picture not included due to indecent exposure) which he tossed out of his crib along with his pants and stuffed friends. Thankfully, Mom came in before nature called.
