Eleanor and Henry started the week with a trip to the Field Museum. They enjoyed looking at some of the animal statues at the museum, Eleanor especially liked the monkeys of course, and Henry the giraffes and zebras. Since they were so close, they hit the planetarium next, and finished off with a quick trip through the zoo. No that Henry doesn’t nap, there seems like so much time for fun during the day! Unfortunately, they put the train ride away before Henry had a chance to ride, and he talked about how he didn’t get to ride the “Yellow Train” for the rest of the week. We promised him that next trip to the zoo we would head straight for the train. The weekend brought lots of fun, starting with a trip to Home Depot to get flowers to plant. Henry and Eleanor both helped pick out and then plant the flowers on the back porch. On Sunday, Lala made Yonana popsicles and Uncle B came over for a Memorial Day BBQ. Eleanor said that her favorite part of the day was eating the cheeseburger. I’m pretty sure that Henry’s favorite part was when Uncle B wrote Henry’s name on his leg. On Monday, our friends Colby and Robin came over for another BBQ – Dad overcooked the burgers this time so instead I’m pretty sure everyone’s favorite part was the ice cream and mini M&M’s our guests brought for desert. Eleanor had fun showing Colby her stickers and her new bunk bed – and after Colby left Eleanor said that next time she wanted to play “Guess Who” with her – which is a fun board game that Eleanor has been enjoying the last few weeks. It was fun to see her starting to engage and play with her friends.
