Happy Father’s Day

Eleanor and Henry celebrated Father’s Day with an activity packed morning. It began with the kiddos waking dad up with presents in hand – then off to breakfast and a visit to the planetarium. Eleanor is very excited about the planetarium right now, so I was really excited to get to go with her. Both kids gave me the grand tour, including watching the Big Bird and Elmo IMAX movie. Kids and parents were both wiped out after the morning, so we took the afternoon easy at home relaxing, plus we were able to Skype with Grandpa and Papa both!

The kids got a bonus morning with Mom this week as we had a bye week in soccer. They hit Navy Pier and the Children’s Museum for some fun. On his day with Mom, Henry choose to go shopping at Target :) He also got a haircut and some fun park time. On her day, Eleanor choose a nearby play café.

A few pictures require explanation this week. First, the puzzle. Henry did this all by himself. He told Mom that he was just having trouble with the last piece, and she came running over with the camera excited only to find not a single piece in the right spot. Still, I give him a lot of credit for sticking with in – it couldn’t have been easy to force that many pieces together. Next – the bathtub. While Mom was tied up, Eleanor managed to convince Henry that he wanted an entire bottle of shampoo dumped over his head. He was all smiles till it started running onto his face. Our bathtub has been bubbling all week every time water is added. Finally, the drawing was Eleanor drawing a person – the first time she has really put together a head, body, arms and legs.
