Summer Fun

We had a fun week enjoying the summer weather. Henry had his alone day with Mom at the zoo, and they discovered a cool climbing area that Henry mastered. They also saw a tiger and got to “Roar”, with the 20 time repeat of Katy Perry’s ROAR song fresh in their minds from last Sunday’s drive. Eleanor spent her alone day at the planetarium, with another screening of the Sesame Street Space movie. They found an art project this time, and Eleanor made an awesome space helmet out of a paper bag and some fun space theme stickers. Henry got to ride the train into work with Dad on Friday, which he loved, and then this weekend we put together the train that Grandpa gave us during our visit. Henry loved it – although it is a bit fragile for him yet. We have already had a few incidents, including one run in with a beach ball that I thought might be the end. Alas, it was fixable, and it is still working!

Henry tried a pretzel with Dad’s favorite Win Schuler’s Cheese Dip on it – he took a few licks, and then asked for a pretzel with no cheese. I guess it is an acquired taste! Rounding out the week was a birthday party at Kids Science Lab where we had several “explosion” experiments which the kids liked. Their favorite was vinegar and baking soda mixture that inflated a balloon placed over the bottle.
