Merry Early Christmas

Henry and Eleanor celebrated our first Christmas of the year this week with Grandma and Grandpa. They were both super excited for everyone to arrive, and at 6:30 in the morning Eleanor came in to Mom and Dad’s room and asked if she could go downstairs to watch for everyone in the window :) She and Henry had been up for a while playing together nicely while Mom and Dad slept in. She found the stuffed spider that she and Uncle B like to spin on the ceiling fan, and got the spider all dressed up for Uncle B. We had a super fun day of playing and present opening. In a totally predictable outcome, Eleanor reported that her favorite part of the day was playing with her new monkey toys, and Henry’s was playing with his new caboose. On Sunday we celebrated Henry’s birthday, and also had our “Bubble” Christmas party. Santa Clause was very impressive at the party, he even gave some kids piggy back rides. Eleanor and Henry were a bit cautious at first, but were very curious and liked to listen to Santa tell a story about Rudolf. Henry told Santa that he wanted a bus, and Eleanor had me tell Santa that she wanted more cups for her tea set.

Earlier in the week Mom took the kids to Winter Wonderfest, which they both remember from last year and were very excited about. Then ended up spending about 5 hours there, hitting all of the rides, eating some funnel cake and riding on the train. They both also graduated to the next level in swimming class, so they both had new teachers for swimming this week.
