Henry and Eleanor capped off a fun week with a Super Bowl party. Lala and Uncle B came over, and we made our traditional chili dinner. Eleanor was especially excited about the prospect of watching football, and she and Henry were both glued to the TV for the first few minutes. She quickly started complaining that there was too much time between football (referring to the commercials and the commentary) and finally said, “We’ve been doing this for too long”, at which point we moved on to puzzles and games with the football on in the background. Neither of the kids were very into the chili, Eleanor only tried one bite before declaring it no good, and Henry made faces with each spoonful. They did enjoy the chips, oyster cracker and cornbread muffins. Prior to the game we had lots of fun in the snow, with about a foot of excellent snowman making snow arriving the previous night. We had a snow monkey, snow train and snow bunny, and Eleanor spend a good half hour just shoveling snow.
During the week, Eleanor had a playdate with her friend Hannah from school, which was a great success. All three kids played well together and Eleanor was talking freely with Hannah. Henry has decided that he also needs a playdate, and has identified a friend from his class that he would like to have over :)
