Eleanor and Henry were excited to welcome Papa this week for a super fun visit! We had lots of fun bucket rides, some wonderful bedtime stories, and finished it off with a trip to the planetarium. Eleanor and Henry were excited to show Papa all the fun things at the planetarium, especially the star walk and the rocket launch. Then, we caught a special exhibit where the kids could build their own paper tube rockets and launch them with some foot stompers.
In other exciting news this week – Eleanor had to fill in for the “Daily Reporter” job at school because she was the “Teacher’s Helper” and the classmate who was the “Daily Reporter” was out sick – and she did it! She told the class the weather, and announced the calendar pattern all without Mom or Dad being there. Very exciting. Eleanor also had two playdates this week which both went well. We also had a birthday party, but Eleanor was a bit more reserved then – it was a very active party with games of dodge ball and “sharks and minnows”, which looked like great fun to Dad but I think was a little much for Eleanor’s speed. Eleanor also make some huge progress at swimming class this week – hopefully we will get a video up soon, but she is outright swimming the whole length of the pool now.
Henry is making some exciting progress at school with his letters – he doesn’t like drawing as much as Eleanor did at this age so we don’t see it as much at home, but the pictures from school show some pretty solid letters, especially with the dot painters.
