Ski Lessons

Eleanor and Henry capped off a fun week with a Sunday trip into Wisconsin for some ski lessons. We didn’t get too many pictures because both Mom and Dad were pretty busy keeping the kids going on the slopes, but we do have a couple of videos that we will hopefully get up soon. The lessons started out on a bit of a wrong foot – our instructor wasn’t a good fit for Eleanor, and Henry wasn’t old enough for lessons. (Not to mention the hour short on sleep…) After an hour and a half filled with mostly refusals to go down the hill, we took a break for lunch. Once we recharged with some greasy grilled cheese and cheeseburgers, we hit the hill again minus the instructor and had a much better time. Both Eleanor and Henry mastered balance on the skis, and could make it down the little hill by themselves. Eleanor started doing the “pizza pie” move, and at one point started making a turn. Henry was mostly interested in just going straight – at one point blowing by both Mom and Dad and thankfully missing a pack of strangers before coming to rest at the bottom. Hopefully the next time we will get an instructor that fits our personalities better – or else Mom and Dad will have to read up on how to teach skiing.

Other fun activities this week included a quick trip to the park to take advantage of some warmer weather, a visit to the dentist for a teeth cleaning, and some super cool rocket ship Gel Jams that even included fire! The kids really enjoyed the park, it seems like forever since we were last there. I think everyone is looking forward to spring.
