Visit from Cousins

Eleanor and Henry had a blast this week with our cousins Jennifer, Page, Fiona and Amelia. We managed to hit most of the big museums, along with a trip up the Willis (Sears) Tower. At the Field Museum, Eleanor wanted to take a picture with each monkey that we saw, and it turns out they have a LOT of monkeys. Henry’s favorite part was the polar bears. We discovered some parts of the Science and Industry museum that we hadn’t seem before, including a section on space and the Apollo missions that both kids really liked.

Also of note this week – Mom made some green oatmeal for St. Patrick’s day, and it just about ruined Eleanor’s morning. She refused to eat it, but recovered by the time we dropped her off for school. Henry like it and asked that we do it again the next day. He also eats popcorn with yogurt on it, so he definitely isn’t the picky eater of the family.

Eleanor surprised everyone this week by completing her evaluation at school with her teacher. She was one on one with the teacher and answered all of her questions – the teacher was so excited that she came running out to meet Mom in the pickup like and told her all about it. Hopefully we can build on that the next few weeks!
