Another week of unusually cold and rainy weather kept Eleanor and Henry inside most of the week, but we still managed to have some fun. Eleanor started her last unit in school, which involves looking back to the beginning of the year and seeing how far she has come, as well as looking forward to next year in Senior Kindergarten. She made a drawing for the hall bulletin board where she was supposed to draw her hopes and dreams for next year. She choose “Learning my lowercase letters” and drew a few letters that she already knew.
For lunch on Friday, Henry requested (and then ate) toast with a layer of cream cheese, then a layer of peanut butter, followed by a layer of Roman tuna salad on that, topped off with pretzels. Uh, yum? Also, Henry is getting much better with his pencil/crayon grip and can make a few letters of his own. I noticed particularly when he was playing tic-tac-toe with Mom and lunch on Sunday and he was making excellent O’s that fit properly inside the board. He also beat Mom at that game, due mostly to Eleanor providing timely distractions :)
Saturday we stayed home most of the day and did some science experiments, and made some new felt puppets. Henry gave me a challenging one by wanting a train puppet, and Eleanor made things easy asking for a banana. Sunday morning the kids got up before either Mom or Dad, and decided to get dressed into their swimsuits and play “pool”. We had a fun lunch out and then explored the Nature Museum for a few hours. We finished up the week with some matching pajamas, and matching braids for Mom and Eleanor.
