Great Grandma visits the Cubs

This week Great Grandma came for a visit to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs play the Tigers. Unfortunately for us, we were rained out early in the game, although we did get to see three home runs! They eventually finished the game after a 2+ hour rain delay, but we had elected to leave well before then. We did have a great visit, and got to show Great Grandma lots of our favorite games and toys, as well as Oz Park and Uncle B’s house. We’ll have to have her back next year and hope for better weather! Eleanor and Henry were most excited about the food options, and less excited about the baseball game – Eleanor went for the pizza and Henry had a cheeseburger.

Eleanor and Henry had two trips to a nearby water park – which they really enjoyed. There was a beautiful pool with gradual entry, and spray fountains and water slides. The highlight was definitely the ice cream snacks though – Hello Kitty popsicle for Eleanor and ice cream cookie sandwich for Henry. On Saturday we went over to visit our friend Colby, and she took us to her block party where we got to jump in a bouncy castle, watch a magic show and get balloon animals. The magic show featured a stuffed monkey for the first few tricks – perfect for Eleanor! We ended the week with a relaxing day at home and a cookout dinner on the porch.
