Eleanor and Henry started Christmas week with their annual trip to the Winter Wonderfest. This year, Henry was tall enough to do a number of rides by himself, which was very exciting. Favorites included the Ferris wheel and the tea cup ride, and of course the train. On Tuesday, Henry had his annual doctor visit and had to get four shots. He handled them like a champ – his sister, however, was hiding in the corner crying and screaming just because he was getting shots. I can only imagine what it is going to be like next time she needs a shot… On Wednesday, Henry and Eleanor went to Pump It Up to celebrate Henry’s birthday. We had asked Henry what he wanted to do to celebrate, and he had said that he wanted to go to Pump It Up, but only wanted to invite Eleanor, so we just went to an open play.
Finally, Christmas Eve was upon us. Lala and Uncle B came over to join in the celebrations, and we had smores for an afternoon snack and then a traditional Christmas Eve dinner of chicken fajitas :)
Christmas morning we opened presents and then had a pancake breakfast. Santa was a hit this year, delivering Eleanor a “Lottie” doll and Henry “Edward” the train. Uncle B joined us later that morning, and we had lots of fun playing with new toys and games. We finished the Christmas meals with a make your own pizza dinner.
