Happy Martin Luther King Day!

Eleanor and Henry enjoyed the long weekend with lots of relaxing time at home. We tried to go bowling on Monday, but it turns out a few other people had the same idea and we didn’t want to wait for a lane to open up. So instead we came home and watched “Marry Poppins”. Eleanor said she liked it, Dad fell asleep, and Henry said it was boring :) Throughout the weekend we also did lots of puzzles, games and Legos. Henry went to a friend’s birthday party, and Eleanor was supposed to have a play date but they had to cancel due to sickness. Henry had fun at the party, and Dad was proud when he blocked the top of the slide and held off four other pushing kids while a smaller kid recovered and cleared out of the way.

It was a bit of a strange week as Dad had to work the graveyard shift for a few days, but it then allowed him to go to gymnastics so that was a fun trade-off. It also meant that Eleanor had to do curbside drop-off at school. Last time we tried, she cried and had to be walked in by a teacher, but this time no trouble at all :) We also got a few videos from her teacher showing Eleanor talking freely in class while playing with her friends, so that was fun.
