This week Eleanor’s other front tooth finally gave way leaving her with a gaping window in her mouth. She was fairly uninterested in the Tooth Fairy, Mom even had to remind her to check her pillow several hours after waking up – but she does love playing with her new window – especially with waffles. She also commented on how it was much easier to eat now that both the loose front teeth were gone.
We had a relaxing weekend – Eleanor had a friend’s birthday party to attend, and Dad and Henry got some alone time. We also had a big Lego project building a cargo airplane. On Sunday we made chili and watched the first quarter of the Super Bowl. Both kids were pretty into it – and Henry said that he wanted to play a football game tomorrow morning.
On Monday it was Dad’s turn to go into Eleanor’s class and help with a cooking unit. We were supposed to make strawberry jam, but it was a bit hectic and Eleanor and I spent most of our time washing out the crock pot. It was also a bit shocking to see the fruit to sugar ratio in the recipe. I asked Eleanor later if they ended up eating the jam, but she said they never saw it again. Ha! Maybe I won’t be invited back for another cooking helper assignment.
