Eleanor lost another tooth this week, moving her to three current “holes” in her mouth. This time, the tooth came out on the school bus on the way to a field trip. In classic Eleanor fashion, she didn’t tell anyone, and just put the tooth into her pocket for later. We also had some fun outside this week, with the weather giving us a little break at times. Eleanor was really excited to get back to riding her scooter, and Henry is happy to have the tricycle mostly to himself. We also had some construction projects this weekend, with Eleanor and Dad creating an “Art Studio” out of cardboard in Eleanor’s room, while Henry used tape on his walls to show where he would like his “Train Studio” to be made – which in his mind means two trains running around tracks on the ceiling like Uncle B’s house. I explained to him that I didn’t think I could make that out of cardboard, but that didn’t seem to phase him. Finally, on Sunday, we headed up to Wilmont for some skiing. It wasn’t our most successful trip ever – the tow rope was a bit of a challenge, and Dad probably make a poor choice wearing his snowboard instead of grabbing an old pair of skiis. Henry and Dad wiped out on both the tow rope and our first trip up the ski lift. Mom was able to get both Eleanor and Henry up the tow rope successfully, and Eleanor did great on the bigger hill with the lift. That hill was a little much for Henry, so he headed in for some snacks. Eleanor and Dad did one more run, and made a successful chairlift exit! At the end, Eleanor also made it up to the top of the tow rope all by herself, although had some trouble sliding backwards at the top and fell over. All in all a nice refresher, but I think the whole family agreed that it was a lot of effort for not too much actual time on the mountain. Also, both Henry and Eleanor rated the actual ski time as their least favorite part of the day :(
