Henry and Eleanor took a quick trip back to Michigan to help Grandma celebrate her big 70th birthday. It was a surprise for Grandma, so we gathered with cousins Mackenzie, Jack and Ben and when Grandma and Grandpa arrived, we rolled up the garage door to reveal all the visitors. Everyone had a great visit, and we benefited from some great weather. We had a full family kickball game (with various levels of involvement – Henry just wanted to run the bases, Eleanor and Grandpa mostly watched, Buddy almost got stepped on) as well as lots of other outdoor activities. The kids were super excited to have a sleepover, and we had a “boys” room and a “girls” room – neither of which got as much sleep as the parents would have hoped. All in all a fun visit for sure!
During the week, we had a visitor of our own, with Lala spending a few days with us while the floors in her house we redone. Eleanor and Henry each got to spend one night alone with Lala, although Henry ended up coming into Mom and Dad’s room in the middle of the night. I don’t think the sleeping bag proved to be a comfy as he was hoping.
