Eleanor and Henry headed to Michigan this week for some time at with Grandma, Grandpa and the rest of the family. Both kids enjoyed swimming in the lake, but when the waves were a little bigger Henry preferred to dodge them on the shore rather than swim. Eleanor wanted to explore the waves a bit more, and had a blast with Mackenzie teaching her how to jump up as each wave arrived. We also had lots of time to build sand castles and bury ourselves in the sand. Grandma brought along a board game from my childhood, “Hotels”, and all the kids liked playing it much to the dismay of Mom, who isn’t a fan. We also hit up the carousal, the 8 person bike, and did some blueberry picking. Plus, we squeezed in an early birthday celebration for Eleanor.
Earlier in the week, Eleanor and Henry visited the Legoland in Chicago, which had some pretty cool Lego sculptures, and had a splash party in a rainstorm.
Squeezing in a bit more into the week, friends Ben, Stacy, Anna and Jackie were in town on Sunday, and we went to see a movie (The Secret Life of Pets) which both kids found too scary (surprise surprise) and the part they ended up liking the most was playing in the arcade next to the theater while we were waiting for the movie to start.
