Eleanor was excited to celebrate her sixth birthday this week. She had been considering plans for a while, and had plans for all three meals of the day, as well as activities throughout the day and sleeping arrangements for the night before and night of. We started festivities with a slumber party with Mom on the night before. Eleanor awoke to the string trail ready to do – and after waiting a bit for Mom and Dad to get around, we followed the string downstairs and opened up presents along the way. Then, it was off to Whole Foods for breakfast with Lala, and then back home for more playtime with new toys. Eleanor had a lunch spot picked out, but decided to just have lunch at home so that we could have more playtime. Lala and Uncle B joined us later that afternoon for birthday cupcakes. Dinner was mac and cheese at home, and then off to bed. Eleanor and Dad had a slumber party, and Mom and Henry had one as well. All in all a successful birthday!
Earlier in the week, the kids had a fun trip to the zoo, and later that afternoon while doing sidewalk chalk, Henry drew his first ever stick figure, which he was very proud of. They also had a fun afternoon visiting with Tia and her two cats, and Cousin Kristen, who was in town for the day.
