Eleanor travelled to San Diego this week for an Adams family reunion. She met a bunch of second cousins, and Great Grandma Adams and the “Great Aunts” got a chance to see all the walking progress that she has made. It was also the longest that she has gone without Dad around – 6 days! The thing I noticed the most was how much her hair grew over those 6 days. I guess you don’t notice it when you see her every day.
Some of Eleanor’s highlights in San Diego include:
- Her first plane flight with just Mama
- Getting her diaper changed on an airplane for the first time
- Seeing the Pacific Ocean for the first time
- Bonking her head multiple times
- Riding in a wagon for the first time
- Getting a fat lip for the first time, courtesy of a very enthusiastic second cousin just trying to give her a hug
- Having her first non-family babysitter (a.k.a., a STRANGER)
- Putting ON a hat and taking it off, multiple times as a game
- Learning to flap her lips with her fingers and make a blub-blub-blub sound (terrible wording, but we can’t think of a way to describe it).
- Playing in her first ball pit
- Perfecting her ability to put things back or on versus just taking them off or out (like toys in a bin or the lid of a box)
