This week we traveled to Kansas for Granny’s funeral. It was a beautiful service and a privilege to join with family and friends honoring her life. I wish that it was under happier circumstances, but it was great to see everyone, and really fun to take a trip down memory lane with Papa. He showed us two different childhood homes, along with the house where Granny’s lived during Amy’s childhood. We also got to see the church were Mimi and Papa got married, and “The Farm” where they lived lived right after getting married. It seemed that just about everyone in Papa’s family had a story about living on “The Farm” at one point or another. We also got to stay with cousin Jennifer and her daughters Paige, Fiona and Amelia, which was very nice of them and super fun! We also got to see Grandma Geneva and Aunt Karren on or trip, and during our visit Eleanor and Henry were entertaining themselves by wrestling together on the floor. Mom was dumbstruck – I’m pretty sure they have never wrestled each other before in their lives – and they both loved it. The couldn’t stop giggling.
