Eleanor and Henry capped off a packed week with a birthday celebration for Dad. We went out to dinner at a Teppanyaki restaurant. I was super excited for the kids to get the “cook at your table” experience, but I’m not sure they were as impressed as Dad. The really liked the fire display, but after that I think it got a little old. That being said, the ice cream at the end really helped end the evening on a positive note. As always, the festival of lights was going on at the same time. We took a quick peek and saw the crowds, but didn’t get to see any actual floats. Dinner took a bit longer than expected, so we didn’t have any time to explore afterwards. We finished off the weekend with a relaxing day at home, watched Shrek, and got some treats from Sweet Mandy Bee’s.
Eleanor started off the week with her last golf lesson, which she enjoyed. There were only 4 kids for this last one, and the coach noticed that she was a bit more focused – it probably also helped that Mom was watching. On Friday, Henry had his first field trip, and Mom got to be a chaperone. They went to the Children’s Museum, and Henry was very excited. It was also his first time riding on a school bus! On Friday night, we went to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner as part of Eleanor’s new therapy. She did great, even ordered the bread sticks. She was a bit disappointed at the end, however, as the prize she wanted cost 75 tickets, and she had only won 28. She ended up saving them for next time, so I’m guessing we will be headed back there soon!
