Eleanor and Henry had an action packed week, including celebrating Henry’s birthday four times! Early in the week the kids took a trip with Lala to the local animal shelter – Henry’s class was supposed to have a field trip there, but it was cancelled at the last minute and they encouraged kids to visit individually. Then on Thursday, we celebrated Henry’s birthday in class, singing “The Earth goes round the Sun”. On Friday, Henry did his string train first thing in the morning before school – he was very excited but it was hard to pull away from all the fun presents and head off to school. That day in school, Henry’s class did a special presentation for parents where they unveiled a video that they made about caring for animals. Henry had a fun speaking part as part of a skit. Eleanor’s class also had a end of year party, and Mom got to join in by taking a craft in for the class to do. That night we had our Santa party with the Bubble Mamas – Henry was very excited to talk to Santa, Eleanor was a bit more reserved. To cap off a busy Friday, we left right after the party and headed to Michigan to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Some snowy weather conspired to make it a long drive, so we slept in a bit on Saturday, and then celebrated Henry’s birthday with Grandma and Grandpa and Great Grandma and Aunt Ann. Later that day we got a chance to enjoy the snow, and did some sledding. Eleanor was especially excited about sledding – she really loved it. Henry was more interested in finding and following animal tracks in the snow. Finally, on Sunday, we celebrated an early Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa, and cousins Mackenzie, Jack and Ben, and Auntie Susan and Uncle Gabe. Phew! That was a busy week!
