Merry Christmas!

This week Eleanor and Henry celebrated Christmas! It was a lead up with the kids off school for the whole week. They got to do Winter Wonderland at Navy Pier, the train exhibit at the Botanical Gardens, ride the Santa Train, and see a play at Emerald City Theater. Lala also had the whole week off, so she got to join in on all the fun. On the 23rd, we went to a holiday party at a friends house, and they showed the movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and then had the Grinch himself show up! Eleanor was a bit scared of the actual Grinch, but Henry thought it was great. On Christmas Eve, our friends Stacey, Ben, Anna and Jackie were in town for their annual Chicago trip, so we got to hang out with them for some gingerbread house making. We also got to join in the lighting of their menorah for the second day of Hanukkah, which was a neat treat for the kids!

Lala joined us for our Christmas Eve dinner, and then did a sleepover so that she could be here when the kids woke up on Christmas morning. We opened presents first thing and then got right to playing. There were lots of Legos to build, and a bunch of new games to try. We finished off the day with our traditional make your own pizza dinner and chocolate fondue desert. This year Henry even managed to stay awake for the whole thing!
