Eleanor and Henry finished off a fun week by making pretzels with Uncle B and Aunt Breanne. They were pretty excited about the prospect, and the turned out very tasty. Henry liked cinnamon sugar on his, while Eleanor preferred salt. When I asked them what their favorite part of making them was (not counting eating), Eleanor said baking them, because she got to play while they were baking, and Henry said twisting the dough into the pretzel shape.
We had a couple of birthday parties to attend this weekend, but we still had some time to try out our new bikes. Both kids were really excited to try, but weren’t quite as excited about persevering through the learning process. Eleanor confessed that “It was harder than she imagined”, and was ready for a break after only about 10 minutes. Oh well, all in good time.
We had a blast celebrating Eleanor’s friend Lincoln’s birthday, and Henry and Eleanor did a lot of “fancy dress” play with Mom’s shoes and jewelry. And earlier in the week Eleanor hosted Mom and Dad for an evening at school where she showed us the book she had just finished, titled “Josufeyn’s Journey”, which was a fiction story about butterflies. Mom and Dad were impressed.
