Eleanor and Henry had a fun weekend celebrating Mother’s Day. We started the morning with special pancakes for Mom for breakfast. Eleanor wanted one shaped like a flower with a chocolate chip heart, and Henry made one with a chocolate chip heart and a chocolate chip letter “k” for kiss – although he ended up eating it and only offered Mom a tiny mouse sized bite. Then, we took Mom out to Home Depot to buy flowers, but ran out of time to plant them, because we had a fun afternoon party at Uncle B and Aunt Breanne’s house. It was a great time and the kids had fun playing with the other kiddos and smashing the stuffed canoe through pillow walls.
On Saturday, we had a super fun visit from our cousins Camille and Austin. It was a beautiful day and we spent lots of time outside building forts and riding bikes and scooters. Once we were worn out, we came inside for a movie – Ratatouille, and a yummy Chinese dinner.
Earlier this week, Eleanor’s class was responsible for the weekly assembly at school. They made a very fun music video, and then did a presentation about being good readers. Eleanor didn’t have a speaking part, but she was up on stage and had a silent role with some props. Henry’s class is currently learning about east Africa, and so I got to go in and show some pictures from Tanzania – Henry was super excited about it and the kids asked some great questions.
